Sunderland striker Fabio Borini is hoping for a recall to the Italy squad.

Borini, on-loan from Liverpool, scored in their Capital One Cup final defeat to Manchester City.

"It (the cup final goal] was a good goal and again against a big team and on a big occasion," said Borini.

"I hope that's a message to someone big."
