Sunderland striker Djibril Cisse has rejected an SOS from parent club Olympique Marseille.
The Sunday Sun says the French club asked the frontman to cut short his season-long loan on Wearside to help boss Eric Gerets cope with a rash of injuries to key strikers.
But Cisse opted to stay at Sunderland - where he is the club's top scorer with nine goals - rather than return to the Stade Velodrome.
