Sunderland are making a move for Manchester City striker John Guidetti.
The Sunday Mirror says Black Cats boss Martin O'Neill, having so far failed to prise top target Steven Fletcher from Wolves with a £13m bid, will now turn his attentions to the 20-year-old Sweden striker.
A Blackburn loan move for Guidetti fell through with City preferring to sell for around £7m.
But Sunderland will face competition from Feyenoord. Guidetti scored 20 goals in 23 games on loan for the Dutch club last term.
The Black Cats boss said: "I wanted some people here who were young and who would hopefully be around for several seasons, and I've a couple of people in mind."
