Sunderland skipper Cattermole hails McClean for Wigan win

Sunderland skipper Lee Cattermole hailed James McClean's performance in victory at Wigan Athletic.

McClean scored Sunderland's second goal in the 4-1 victory over Wigan at the DW Stadium on Tuesday night, just 48 hours after making his full Barclays Premier League debut.

Cattermole told safc.com: "James McClean was the star on the night and I'm really pleased for him. He took his chance well.

"We're spreading the goals across the team and that was the message from the manager when he came in.

"He wanted us to start getting balls in across the box and show that desire to go and score a goal. We've got players who can do that and it's all just falling into place nicely now."
