Sunderland seek English manager long-term

Sunderland want an Englishman in charge for next season.

Dick Advocaat was named new manager to the end of the season this morning after Gus Poyet's sacking.

The Guardian says a long-term replacement - ideally Derby County boss Steve McClaren and preferably an Englishman - will be sought this summer.

Sheffield United boss Nigel Clough is also under discussion.
