Sunderland goalkeeper Craig Gordon has emerged as a target for Celtic if the champions are unsuccessful in signing Fraser Forster permanently.
The 29-year old Scottish gloveman, who has recently returned from injury, is out of contract at the Stadium of Light this summer with the Hoops keen on making a run at him if they cannot sort out a deal with Forster who is on his second season-long loan from Newcastle United.
Reports suggest that Celtic are lining up Gordon for a pay-as-you-play deal if a mooted permanent £2million move for Forster falls through.
The former Heart of Midlothian custodian is currently behind Simon Mignolet and Keiren Westwood in the keeping ranks at Sunderland indicating that a move may be wise if he wants regular first team game time.
