Sunderland have released Adam Reed, Ryan Noble and Ben Wilson.
Striker Noble was a regular scorer at reserve and youth team levels but the 21-year-old only made a handful of first-team appearances for the Black Cats.
Midfielder Reed, 22, never made a first team appearance for Sunderland and is currently in talks with League Two side York City over a possible move, after spending time on loan there last season.
And 20-year-old goalkeeper Wilson is another who never had a first-team outing for Sunderland.
