Sunderland are ready to sell Adam Johnson next month.

The Sun says Sunderland are ready to ship out Johnson in January in order to fund a move for Fabio Borini. Liverpool want £10million for Borini.

Johnson has been in and out of Gus Poyet's team this season and has dropped off the England radar since his switch from Manchester City.

Like Sunderland, Liverpool also need to sell to fund their own January transfer plans.

Borini spent last season on-loan at Sunderland and Poyet admits he'd like to re-sign the Italian.
