Sunderland manager Dick Advocaat has revealed his transfer plans for the Black Cats if he decides to stay at the helm of the club.
The Dutchman will make a decision regarding his future next week after he was presented with a long-term contract at the Stadium of Light and if he accepts the offer, will look at bringing in some new players in the summer.
Advocaat said: "This squad needs more competition in the team, four or five regulars to get more competition. We have to see what the big boss will do.
"We cannot spend as much as the majority of clubs, but I think with four players we can do a lot to make the team better. It is not as bad as some are thinking. You need a better-balanced squad."
