Sunderland midfielder Vaughan hails Westwood form

Sunderland midfielder David Vaughan has hailed the form of goalkeeper Keiren Westwood in recent games.

Like his colleague, Vaughan has also been forced to wait for his chance and the former Crewe man says he's been impressed with how the stopper has stepped up to the plate.

"Keiren has been brilliant - he's come in and really shown what he's all about," he told safc.com.

"He is a commanding goalkeeper and has taken his chance really well.

"There's been some real moments of magic, some great saves, and to come in at Old Trafford for a full debut can't have been easy.

"But Keiren has handled everything really well.

"Like me, he has had to wait for his chance but his patience has paid off."
