Sunderland boss Gus Poyet is ready to bid for Liverpool striker Fabio Borini.
The Northern Echo says Poyet is prepared to launch a bid to be reunited with the 23-year-old next season.
It is understood Liverpool would be willing to sell for a fee in the region of £10.5m.
Whether Sunderland can stretch to such a figure is less clear at this stage.
