Sunderland have reportedly made a bid for Swansea City defender Ashley Williams.

talkSPORT and Sky Sports both suggest that the Black Cats have offered £4million for the Welsh centre-back who has been with the Swans since 2008.

Williams is contracted at the Liberty Stadium until next summer but Sunderland have tested the resolve of the Welsh outfit who could lose him for nothing a year from now.
