Sunderland insisted only on a straight cash sale with Galatasaray for Asamoah Gyan yesterday.
The Mirror says the Ghana striker was wanted by Galatasaray as late as Monday night when the Turkish transfer window shut, as the club tried to land him on loan, rather than a £10 million deal.
Gyan was also offered to Marseille last week, according to the French club, and Tottenham were also mooted as a destination, leaving the striker needing to patch up relationship with Sunderland.
