Sunderland fancy Tottenham reject Tomas Pekhart

Czech Republic striker Tomas Pekhart is a target for Sunderland boss Steve Bruce.

The People says Bruce sent his top spies to watch the giant hitman in action for German side Nuremberg last week and is lining up a £5million transfer window raid in January.

Pekhart, 22, was with Spurs as a kid and briefly played for Southampton on loan before going back home, and then to the Bundesliga where he has been an instant success.

The 6ft 4in forward is not afraid to move as he has already played for SIX clubs in his wandering career, and he would come back to the Premier League if the deal was right. Pekhart made his international debut against Turkey last year.
