Sunderland defender John Egan is enjoying his time in South Korea for the Peace Cup.
The young defender was included in Sunderland's tour party and played in one of the two games, coming on as a substitute during the 3-2 win over Groningen.
"It's been really enjoyable and a great experience," the Republic of Ireland under-19 international told safc.com.
"It's good to have the chance to be around the first team players and their set up and get used to what they do.
"You learn a lot from the senior players in training, you don't realize just how much you do, especially when you come up against them and seeing how they react in certain situations.
"Even being with them around the hotel is a great experience and it's all been very professional. To come half way around the world to a place I never thought I'd see, words can't really describe what time of experience it has been.
"The heat is unbelievable, each training session felt like it was getting hotter and hotter but I feel much fitter because of it."
