Sunderland defender Russell Anderson is ready to quit the Premiership club.
Not even the fact he played just TWO first-team games in TWO YEARS for the Black Cats can make him sour.
Anderson told the Scottish Sun: "The position I'm in, I need to be playing football.
"I haven't played much since I've been down here. My priority is to get some games and see where it takes me. At the moment things are up in the air for me. I've been in England for two and a half years, but not much has gone right for me. I had one injury after another and just when I thought things were changing at Burnley I got a bad one. It was very frustrating.
"I've been back fit for a good two or three months now and I've played a couple of reserve games. I'm ready for a new challenge. Not much has gone right for me at Sunderland. But you just have to get on with it.
"There are plenty of other people much worse off than I am.
"I feel part of a dressing room again. When you are injured for a long time you can feel excluded. But even if I could turn the clock back I would still join Sunderland. You can always say 'What if?'. But if I'd turn down the opportunity I would have always been thinking 'What if?'
"And who knows what would have happened if I'd stayed at Aberdeen? So I don't regret it for one second. Obviously, it hasn't been as successful as I'd have liked. But everything else that has gone with it has been good for me and the family.
"Niall Quinn is a really nice guy and I don't think he would say a bad word about anyone - nor could you find anyone with something negative to say about him. He's always taken an interest in me, even checking with the physios about my fitness.
"Having played the game, he understands what it's all about."
