Sunderland boss Steve Bruce is ready to offer Peter Whittingham a return to the Premiership.

The former Aston Villa winger has been impressing for Cardiff City this season and is being tracked by Bruce, says the People.

Whittingham is on Sunderland's radar and will attract an offer if they to agree terms with Toluca for young Mexico international midfielder Nestor Calderon. The 25-year-old winger has already bagged 12 goals for the Championship outfit this season.
