Sunderland are chasing Schalke 04 striker Kevin Kuranyi.
The Germany international comes off contract at Schalke in the summer and could sign with Sunderland on a Bosman next month.
The People says Black Cats boss Steve Bruce is keen to boost his attack with an international class signing and rates Kuranyi highly.
