Sunderland chairman Short targets Real Madrid coach Clement

Sunderland owner Ellis Short is keen on Real Madrid coach Paul Clement.

Former Chelsea coach Clement is currently assistant manager at Real under Carlo Ancelotti and is being linked with a return to England this summer.

The Sun says Sunderland will attempt to lure Clement away from Real Madrid this summer to replace Gus Poyet.

Clement is also top of QPR's shortlist should interim manager Chris Ramsey not work out.

For his part, Poyet is being linked with Sam Allardyce's job at West Ham United this week.
