Gus Poyet could be unveiled as new Sunderland manager today.
The Sunderland Echo says Poyet is expected to be confirmed as Sunderland's new head coach on a three-year deal within the next 24 hours.
Poyet has been the front-runner for the position for more than a week, with Sunderland owner Ellis Short and director of football Roberto De Fanti both admirers of the Uruguayan.
Several bookmakers suspended betting on Poyet today in the race to succeed Paolo Di Canio at the helm.
