Sunderland manager Gus Poyet can avoid a Football Association charge if he happens to plead guilty.
The Uruguayan tactician was charged with improper conduct after booting a water bucket and bottle during his side's 1-1 draw with Hull City on Tuesday night.
Poyet was reacting to a yellow card shown to Jack Rodwell for diving when he lashed out, prompting an altercation with Tigers boss Steve Bruce.
Poyet is pondering whether or not he should appeal the charge but the Daily Star suggests he should plead guilty to the offence so the Wearside club only receives a fine and the former Chelsea star does not have to manage the team from the stands.
