Sunderland boss Gus Poyet is chasing Brighton attacker Will Buckley.

The Daily Star Sunday says Poyet failed to land Buckley, 25, in January after signing team-mate Liam Bridcutt but will bid again regardless of whether Brighton go up.

Poyet wants greater control of transfers at Sunderland, despite Lee Congerton being installed as director of football, and sees Buckley as a key target.
