Sunderland boss Poyet excited by youthful England squad

Sunderland boss Gus Poyet is excited about the youthful squad of England.

Sunderland fans will be watching out for one of their own in the shape of Jordan Henderson, who began his career on Wearside before making a £20m move to Liverpool in 2011.

Poyet said: "I'm really excited at the players England have to pick from.

"And I like the fact that Roy Hodgson has not just gone for safe options - he has taken some young players who will go on to become regular internationals for years to come.

"I've seen all of these young players play in the Premier League and I have been really impressed with people like Sturridge, Shaw and Lallana, and of course Jordan Henderson, who is someone Sunderland fans know well.

"They are names to look out for at the World Cup."
