Sunderland boss Gus Poyet says their self-belief is returning after victory at Newcastle United.
Frustrations were starting to spill over after a succession of draws with even Poyet admitting he was bored watching his own side.
But the dramatic 1-0 triumph at St James' Park has changed all that.
And Poyet said: "The players are convinced now. We needed that win and now they are confident what we're doing is working.
"You always need big moments to make the team believe and Adam Johnson provided one with his goal."
