Sunderland boss Martin O'Neill says Sir Alex Ferguson will feel absolutely slain if Manchester United lose the title on goal difference tomorrow.
Manchester City only need to be QPR to be assured of the title.
O'Neill said: "Losing the title on goal difference is murderous. It is terrible - the worst. All the missed chances from the whole season go through your head.
"I have done it twice. We got beaten up at Celtic one year on goal difference and I was with Wycombe Wanderers when we lost out in the Vauxhall Conference to Colchester when we both had 94 points.
"It was particularly hard on the players because we were part-time and Colchester were full-time.
"Sir Alex Ferguson will be the most disappointed man in Britain if they lose on goal difference.
"We are bit-part players here at Sunderland, but we do have our own ambitions. We could still finish in the top 10."
