Sunderland boss Martin O'Neill is desperate for skipper Lee Cattermole to enter the fray as the Black Cats engage in a relegation fight. Cattermole returned from a knee injury for the last 15 minutes of the 2-0 FA Cup home defeat to Bolton.
O'Neill said: "Lee has been missing for seven or eight weeks and I am hoping he can stay fit for us between now and the end of the season.
"I did think about starting with him, but I was not sure how he would cope physically."
