Sunderland boss Tony Mowbray says they leave the FA Cup with their heads held high.
Sunderland were beaten in last night's FA Cup replay by Fulham 3-2.
Mowbray said, "Right now there is frustration in the dressing room.
"The last two goals we conceded are unlike us. But I'm incredibly proud of the way we stayed in the game.
"We started a bit cautiously, but we pressed them. They finished with their strongest team on the field, which I think is an honour for us.
"It was a fantastic test for the team. We try to give our fans a team they can be proud of and play good football.
"I think our fans deserve a lot of credit for keeping the players on fire constantly. We fight for all the people who come and support us every time."
