Sunderland boss Roy Keane was in the stands to see David Nugent turn in a good shift in England U21's 2-2 draw with Italy last night.

Preston striker Nugent scored with a superb diving header midway through the first-half and did a lot of the hard graft for strike-partner Leroy Lita on the night.

Sunderland are understood to have made a cash bid of £6 million for the prolific Deepdale favourite.
