Nancy defender Salif Sane is a target for Sunderland boss Paolo di Canio.

The Mirror says Sane has been tracked by the Wearsiders' spies for months, and their top scout watched him last weekend.

The 22-year-old, who stands a strapping 6ft 4in, could leave Nancy for around £1.5million in the summer and is keen to come to England.
