Sunderland boss Steve Bruce has shutdown talk of a deal for Benfica striker Nuno Gomes.
Reports have suggested Sunderland are lining up a move for the Portuguese international, but Bruce has moved to rubbish the rumours.
"There's nothing at all in this story about Nuno Gomes," said Bruce.
