Wigan Athletic goalkeeper Chris Kirkland is being linked with Sunderland.
Despite his injury problems, the Daily Mail says Sunderland boss Steve Bruce is chasing England international Kirkland.
Bruce is also keen on Kirkland's teammate Maynor Figueroa, though will not meet Wigan's £7 million asking price.
