Sunderland and Newcastle enjoy word game wind-ups

Sunderland and Newcastle enjoyed a war of words on social media this week.

The two historic rivals were able to reconnect in the FA Cup third round on Saturday.

After the Magpies beat Sunderland 3-0, they could not resist gloating on their website afterward.

Pre-game, Sunderland posted an online form guide that showed three sentences beginning with letters f, t, and m, which stands for “f the Mags."

Newcastle then chimed in on their official site post-game, with their review having sentences that started with s, m, and b, referencing “sad Mackem b*******."

Despite the Black Cats playing up the game all week, they were unable to live with the Premier League side.
