Summer surgery fears for Man Utd's Ronaldo

There are fears Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo will need summer surgery.

The Sun says Ronaldo has pulled out of Portugal's friendly clash in Estonia tomorrow amid fears he could need a hernia op.

The Manchester United winger complained of a groin injury towards the end of their last-gasp World Cup qualifying win in Albania on Saturday.

He was concerned it could be related to a hernia so will have tests in Lisbon to establish if surgery is needed.

If he does, Ronaldo, 24, is likely to spend much of the close season recovering and that would threaten his inclusion on United's Far East tour.

He has avoided talking about his future while on international duty as Real Madrid weigh up a renewed move for him.
