Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers is considering axing Simon Mignolet for backup goalkeeper Brad Jones ahead of today's clash at Manchester United.

The Daily Mail says Jones is being considered for the starting line-up after the poor run of form by the Belgian goalkeeper.

The Anfield club are desperate for a result after a morale-sapping exit from the Champions League on Tuesday and their failure to challenge for the top four this season.

Australia international Jones is yet to feature in the Premier League this season.
