RB Leipzig coach Julian Nagelsmann is emerging as a candidate for the Barcelona job.

Cadena SER says Nagelsmann is rated ahead of Barca coach Ronald Koeman in the plans of new president Joan Laporta for next season. That's according to Manu Carreño, speaking to El Larguero.

"Laporta respects Koeman a lot but he would not have signed him for his project. He may continue, but he likes other coaches more, including Nagelsmann," said Carreno.

Laporta and his new right-hand man, Mateu Alemany, will have to decide between now and the end of the season if Koeman, who has a contract until 2022, continues, or if they target other candidates.

Nagelsmann has a contract with RBL until 2023.
