Stones picks up Everton's young player award

John Stones has been named Everton's Young Player of the Season for 2014/15.

The 20-year old defender enjoyed a stellar campaign for the Toffees which saw him voted in as the Goodison Park club's best young player this term.

Stones, who reached the 50-game milestone this season, added the award to the Supporters Club prize he landed on Tuesday night.

"It's been a great few days, winning the supporters' club award last night and now this," Stones told evertontv.

"Knowing the fans have voted for me means so much.

"It's great that I've been recognised and I'm now already looking ahead to hopefully doing even better next season."

In other awards on the night, captain Phil Jagielka landed a treble including the Player of the Season while Brendan Galloway won U21 Player of the Season and Harry Charsley landed the U18 Player of the Season.
