Anthony Stokes is desperate to sign a new contract with Celtic.

The 23-year old striker says he is the happiest he has ever been in his football career playing for the Hoops and is determined to win a new deal so he can remain at Parkhead for as long as possible.

"I have another season remaining on my contract and an option after that but a new deal? Of course, because I've never been happier at a club," Stokes said after scoring the opening goal in the 5-0 win at Hibernian yesterday.

"Listen, I can't see myself playing for anyone else for a long time if the offer is on the table.

"Without a doubt the manager here has made me a better player. I know when he hammers me it's for my own good as he wants to get the best out of me.

"I probably didn't realise that the first couple of times he had a go at me in the past but I do now. Yes, this was my best performance under him and I'm delighted to be back in the team and on the scoresheet again.

"I was a little bit tired towards the end of the game but happy with my contribution."
