Stoke City goalkeeper Thomas Sorensen says he accepts being third choice.
The Dane, 38, finds himself behind Asmir Begovic and Jack Butland.
"I've had a good chat with Mark Hughes (Stoke manager) about it. They failed to loan Butland again and they do not want to be in a situation this summer where two goalkeepers leave the club (Sorensen and Butland).
"I understand, and I have accepted it, although it is not the optimal situation for me. It's in no way affected my attitude, and I'm on speaking terms with everyone in the club.
"A long career has taught me that football is not always just about the sport, but also a political game."
