Stoke tried to trump Birmingham for Davies

Stoke City failed with a bid to trump Birmingham City for Aston Villa defender Curtis Davies.

The Mirror says Defender Davies, 25, will cost Birmingham £2.5million from local rivals Villa.

Stoke made a last-ditch move for Davies while he was having a medical at St Andrews, but the player kept his word.

The England hopeful is confident winning over Blues fans.
