Stoke City striker Michael Owen feels Wayne Rooney is frustrated at Manchester United.
Owen knows what it is like to be on the outside looking in at United.
He said: "He has not played the lone man role for many years now.
"He can play in midfield, in behind, he can play anywhere. He is probably not feeling his best at the moment, feeling ousted out of his favourite position.
"Wayne Rooney was fantastic when he played the furthest up front. He loves football so much, he just wants the ball all the time, and sometimes goes deeper and deeper to get it. You don't want to stand up front and wait for everyone to give it to you. He can get frustrated when he does not get the ball."
