Stoke's Sorensen named in Denmark squad despite injury

Stoke City goalkeeper Thomas Sorensen has been named in Denmark's provisional World Cup squad despite the fact he has a serious elbow injury.

The 33-year old suffered a dislocated elbow in the Potters' 7-0 loss to Chelsea on April 25 and it was initially feared that he would miss the World Cup but Danish boss Morten Olsen has included him in case he makes a swift recovery ahead of the finals in South Africa next month.

Sorensen was joined by fellow Premier League stars Daniel Agger of Liverpool, Blackburn's Lars Jacobsen and Arsenal's Nicklas Bendtner.

Denmark take on Holland, Japan and Cameroon in Group E.
