Stoke's Higginbotham to remain with Ipswich

Danny Higginbotham will remain on loan with Ipswich Town until the end of the year.

The 33-year old Stoke City defender joined the Portman Road club in September on an initial one-month deal but will now stay until the end of December.

"We are delighted that we have managed to keep Danny with us until the end of December," Town chief executive Simon Clegg told the club's official website.

"He has settled into the team and the club very easily and made it known that he would like to stay here when we started discussions about extending his loan.

"He is very much committed to the cause here and I know he's delighted that we have managed to reach an agreement with Stoke that keeps him in an Ipswich Town shirt for the rest of the year."
