Peter Crouch lavished praise on former teammate Steven Gerrard in the wake of the Liverpool captain's 500th Premier League match.
34-year old midfielder Gerrard notched the rare milestone in the weekend's 0-0 draw with West Bromwich Albion and his achievements were not lost on Stoke City striker Crouch who spent three years alongside him at Anfield between 2005 and 2008.
"An unbelievable player," Crouch told Premier League TV.
"I think his record speaks for itself. He's won things almost on his own at Liverpool."
Crouch added: "Five-hundred Premier League games at the same club, and at a club like Liverpool, is an even bigger achievement."
Gerrard, who has netted 117 league goals for the Reds, became just the 12th player to reach 500 appearances in the Barclays Premier League.
