Stoke City No2 Mark Bowen has confirmed they're keen on Bayern Munich winger Xherdan Shaqiri.

But he acknowledges the jump from Bayern to Stoke could be too great for Shaqiri as other clubs, Liverpool included, are also believed to be hovering for the 23 year-old Swiss international.

"To get a good player like him on board would be fantastic," said Bowen to The Sentinel.

"There are other clubs interested, but it doesn't mean we rule ourselves out.

"He's definitely on the list, but there is competition for a player of his ability."
