Stoke keeper Sorensen: Lindegaard can make it at Man Utd

Stoke City goalkeeper Thomas Sorensen says Anders Lindegaard is good enough for Manchester United.

The pair work together for the Denmark national team.

"Anders is definitely capable of performing for them," said Sorensen. "He seems confident and he can handle the pressure as well. Any keeper playing at United has to cope with that mental pressure. There are so many good keepers around, but only a few who can handle the pressure. You've seen good keepers who have failed there, and then there are the likes of [Edwin] van der Sar and [Peter] Schmeichel who are fantastic for them.

"They obviously hope he can be that good for them in the future. He's athletic, has good feet, and he will fit in all round. He's got the talent, the right mentality, and seeing him at United is quite something. Now, experience-wise, he needs to play some games to help him step up a level. That is my only concern.

"He is 26 but maybe lacks some experience because he's only played 50-odd games in Norway [for Aalesund]. I recommended him to Stoke three years ago, saying he was a good keeper for the future, but they decided not to pursue it."
