Stoke keeper Butland wants Premier League move

Stoke goalkeeper Jack Butland is determined to return to the Premier League.

Butland hopes that his club will allow him to make the move he has sought for the better part of a year.

The Englishman, who has been linked with Bournemouth and Crystal Palace, did say that he would stay at Stoke if he did not get a good offer from a Premier League club.

Asked about his future, he said to reporters: "I don't know the answer to that question, I really don't know.

"I've always said my desire to play in the Premier League has always been there and I wanted to get up with Stoke.

"It hasn't happened and I don't know what is going to happen in the summer.

"I've always given everything, regardless, and if I'm still here I'll do exactly the same again.

"Another Premier League club would be the only reason to part ways.

"There would be no sideways movement or anything like that.

"If I'm here, I will give everything like always, and if not I'll owe a hell of a lot and I know I'll have enjoyed every minute of it.

"It's been the bulk of my career which has given me so many opportunities.

"We've had so many ups and so many downs. I feel a connection with the club, and the community, and the people it's brought me close to... I can't really put that into words.

"So if that day comes, it will be a very sad day for me personally, but here there is a time and people I can always look back on with fondness."
