Stoke great Macari backs Adam for Scotland call-up

Stoke City legend Lou Macari believes that Charlie Adam is a shoo-in for a place in the Scotland national team.

Adam has been on a wonderful run of form recently, scoring four goals in his last six Premier League outing, and his contribution has been crucial to Stoke's positive form of late.

Former player and manager Macari has most certainly been impressed with Adam's form and he has now backed the 29-year old to be called up by manager Gordon Strachan for Scotland's next squad.

Macari wrote in his column for the Stoke Sentinel: 'I think it's only a matter of time before Charlie Adam's rich vein of form is rewarded with a recall by Scotland.

'I'm told Scotland manager Gordon Strachan was as the Britannia on Saturday and it sounds like he can only have been impressed by what he saw. Adam scored with a header, a bit of a novelty for him, and lasted the course well from what I hear.'
