Stoke City are looking to sign Philipp Wollscheid on loan from Bayer Leverkusen.
Reports suggest the Potters are seeking an initial six-month deal for the 25-year old German centre-back with the view to a permanent move.
Wollscheid, who has also been linked with West Ham United and Southampton, recently returned to Leverkusen following a loan with Bundesliga rivals Mainz but it appears as though he will be heading to the Britannia Stadium this January.
The two-time Germany international joined Bayer from FC Nurnberg in the summer of 2012 and has since made 67 appearances for the North Rhine-Westphalia outfit.
