Stoke City are eyeing Aston Villa midfielder Stephen Ireland.

The Sun says Ireland, 26, a target for Stoke, has one year left of his £1.5million-a-year contract and once again, he is likely to move for lower wages.

Stoke would only be willing to pay about £35,000-a-week.
