Stoke City defender Philipp Wollscheid is enjoying the Premier League's physical side.
The German central defender, 25, signed on loan from Bayer Leverkusen last month.
He said, "I prefer to let others talk about me but I like to get the ball down and I like to get stuck in.
"One thing I have noticed here straight away is that you can be more aggressive than in the Bundesliga.
"And there's a bit more leeway from the officials to go in and challenge for the ball - whereas in Germany they would be challenges which would result in a free-kick.
"Here, the big difference is you can challenge harder - and that is a mentality that I am getting used to.
"Everybody knows this is physically the toughest league in the world. But, for me, it is also the all-round best league in the world. Most players want to test themselves here and I was no different."
